Forms and Form Views
We’re excited to announce the launch of Forms as the newest Spreadsheet.com View type. Now you can quickly create shareable and embeddable forms using Form views, where each form submission becomes a new row in the worksheet.

Each worksheet can have any number of forms. For example, in a Candidates worksheet you might want to create an Application form for accepting new applicants from your public website, as well as an Employee Referral form for accepting employee referrals internally. Each of these forms can be created by creating different Form views in your Candidates worksheet.
When creating a form, each column in your worksheet can be used as a form field. You can choose whether fields are hidden and if they should have a default value. You can also configure column data types within the form designer, and add new columns as needed without switching back to a Sheet view.
Branding your form with a custom logo and background color is also available, as well as adding text blocks for description elements.
When a form is submitted, a new row is created in your worksheet with all of the data captured in form fields automatically populated in the corresponding columns. This works with all data types including attachments, related rows, users, etc.
Forms can be easily shared or embedded in any third party site that supports iframes:
The live form uses a simple responsive design by default, enabling it to work equally well across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

You can control what happens when a form is submitted: either show a custom confirmation message or redirect the submitter to a custom URL. In addition, you can optionally enable an email to be sent to one or more email addresses whenever a row is created.

Future work
Once we release Automations (coming soon) you’ll be able to trigger actions when new rows are created via Forms.
In a future version of the Form view we plan to add support for populating field values using URL parameters as well as the ability to add conditional form logic to hide, show, or modify specific fields and field values.
